Karlene Ellsworth brings botanical insight and fascination with how light brings excitement to the worlds she creates in her still life paintings. The magic of art enables her to break free from the bonds of her Multiple Sclerosis and express her spirituality through the medium of oil paint. Her husband's Alzheimer's required her to take care of him since 2000. Recently she has been able to return to her artwork. She received a USArtists Special Needs scholarship to PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMY OF THE FINE ARTS in 1998-99 She studies privately following the methods of David A. Leffel. Her mentors have included Gregg Kruetz, Joe Anna Arnette and Frank Arcuri of the Art Student’s League. Currently she studies with Daniel Edmondson of Colorado Previously she was represented by the Lambertville Gallery of Fine Art. Her works have appeared in many juried shows. These included juried shows with the New Hope, Doylestown Art League, Main Line and Abington Art Center, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts 1999 Student Shows snd the Philadelphia Sketch Club Small Oil Painting Shows in 1998 and 1999.

It's another beautiful day. The sun is shining through my windows and onto the simple study I completed last evening.

This one is done completely with a palette knife. You'll see the style is very different from most of my still life. Give me some feedback on what you think.
